Valve Thread DIN 7756
The DIN 7756 valve thread is a specialized thread type intended for use in vehicle tire valves. Valves should always be closed with a valve cap to prevent the ingress of dirt or moisture. Rubber valves seal the rim hole without additional measures, while screw valves require a sealing ring.
The current standard for the valve thread is DIN 7756 from 1979. There is also an older version from 1963, which is obsolete and only used for repairing older vehicle tires. The dimensions of the valve thread according to DIN 7756 are identical to the specifications of the European Tyre and Rim Technical Organisation (ETRTO), which advocates for the standardization of sizes for tires, rims, and valves across Europe. The ISO 4570 tire valve thread, however, is not interchangeable with the DIN 7756 valve thread, and these two types of valve threads should not be confused.
The flank angle of the DIN 7756 valve thread is 60°. The thread designation is derived from the abbreviation Vg and the nominal diameter, e.g., Vg 6. Dimensions are given in mm, with the pitch in threads per inch.
The thread table for the DIN 7756 valve thread includes only seven different dimensions. Listed are the external diameter and core diameter for bolts and nuts, as these values are not identical.
